Parent and Student Notes for Friday, February 8, 2019
- Pleasepayyour family bill for 3 Fridays in February plus your $7 church fee per family, if you did not pay last week. The payment table is open from 8:45-3:00.
- Student Teacher’s Luncheon and Meeting at 12:10 in Room 102-103.
- PLEASE tell your family members that NO Feminine Products in the Asbury toilets please. Asbury’s sewer system doesn’t handle these well and we have had backups the last 2 Fridays. The repair person found these items in the catch drain. Thanks for your help!
- Last day for T-shirt sales will be extended until next Friday, February 8. Please order and pay for them at the Payment Table. T-shirts are $9 each and polo shirts are $14.
- Beethoven and Brahms see earlier email that was sent about special instructions for going to Evangel tomorrow afternoon.
- Students who want to perform as a small ensemble or solo should for the PSHP March 2 Banquet sign-up at the Information Table. Each group will need to be heard and coached prior to performing. We will have times available on Friday, February 22 or Friday, March 1 to be coached.
- No Drum Set Class or Yearbook class tomorrow.
- Tickets for our Fundraiser Banquet on Saturday, March 2 at 6:00 at Aldersgate Methodist in Nixa will be on sale now through February 22. Prices are $15 for 1 set, $25 for 2 seats, $50 for 4 seats, and $100 for 8 seats or the whole table. We will have fliers available this week.
- Beginner Orchestra students will meet in their smaller classes tomorrow. This includes all of the violins, viola, cello, and harp students.
- Beginner and Intermediate Band classes will be in their separate classes tomorrow at their respective times. Beginner Band at 8:45 and Intermediate Band at 10:00.
- We will have sign-ups for February through May volunteer opportunities at the Information Table. Please stop by and look.
- Be sure to check the website for class assignments or bonus questions, even though most classes did not have an assignment over Christmas break. Each student ages 8-13 in the beginner or intermediate classes will receive a ticket for each 30 minutes of practice. These tickets can be redeemed at the end of each semester for prizes. http://playhispraises.com
- Reminder that Asbury is a no nut church. Cashews were found on the floor last week. Thanks for your attention to this.
- The Music Composition Class will be talking with Dr. R. Andrew Lee, a concert pianist and teacher from Colorado, via the internet, during the 1:45 hour in Room 212. Anyone is welcome to attend this great class to hear this speaker!! Thanks Dr. Heather Nelson for arranging this.
CLASS ROOM CHANGES FOR THIS WEEK
- At 12:45 Adoration Band will meet in the Youth Room and Beethoven Orchestra will have an extra rehearsal in the Sanctuary.
- At 12:45 3rd Year Mezzo Theory will meet across the hall in Room 104.
CONGRATULATIONS
Eight of our PSHP Concert Choir students have been invited to the 2019 SBU High School Invitational Choir this Saturday, February 9. They will rehearse from 9-5 and have a free concert at 7:00 in Pike Auditorium on the campus on SBU in Bolivar. Congrats to Jewel Clay, Joy Clay, Anna Faust, Claire Forrester, Jared Haslam, Jonathan Maes, Gloria Talmage, and Daniel Walley. Thank you to Jennifer Sinn and Suzannah Pugh for the extra fun event.

- No pep band performance in February this year.
- Beethoven and Brahms Orchestra will be performing with the Evangel Orchestra on Thursday, February 21.
Rehearsals: Friday, February 8 from 3:45-5:00 at Evangel
Friday, February 15 from 3:45-5:00 at Evangel. Might go a little earlier for a formal tour of the campus.

Concerts to Attend
- Springfield Symphony has a performance, Saturday, February 9 at 7:30 at JKHammons Hall. The concert features a concert with a Frank Sinatra singer, Steve Lippia. NO vouchers are needed, just go to the Hammons box office to purchase a bronze seat for $12.50.
- Mid-America Singers has a free concert on Sunday, February 24th at 3:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church.
Love Collection for one of our families
There will be a sign up at the Information Table if you would like to bring a meal for the Richardsons for their family of 3 on a Friday that we have PSHP classes. This can be frozen or ready to bake. We have dates to sign-up for meals through February 22.
We will have a donation box set up at the Information Table for donations to the Richardson family. We are collecting monetary donations, gas gift cards, and restaurant gift cards to bless this family this fall. Please pray for Angie, Ashlynn, and Roger.
