SBU WESTERN MISSOURI ALL-REGION ORCHESTRA: Audition Submission Deadline October 31, 2 pm

 

Greetings from Andy and Liz and SBU’s WMARO,

As everyone knows by now, the Missouri All State Orchestra will not have a performance this year because of the pandemic.

We are, however, planning to hold the Western Missouri All Region Orchestra at SBU.  SBU’s facilities will allow us to be socially distanced, including the audience!  This will be a unique opportunity for your students to perform in an honors orchestra this year.

We will accept every student who registers and submits an audition video.  Please encourage your students to audition, even if they are attending school virtually full time.

SBU WESTERN MISSOURI ALL-REGION ORCHESTRA

Date: Saturday, November 14, 2020
Location: Casebolt Music Center, Southwest Baptist University campus in Bolivar, MO

Check-in will be in the Casebolt lobby at 8:30 a.m.
Rehearsal starts at 9 a.m. in Meyer Recital Hall
Concert at 4 p.m. in Meyer Recital Hall

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

All-State Audition Excerpts:

Violin: Items 1and 2 from the All-State excerpts
Viola: Items 1and 2 from the All-State excerpts
Cello: Items 1and 2 from the All-State excerpts
Bass: Items 1and 2 from the All-State excerpts

To register for your audition, please complete the form below and then submit your audition video via the upload link below. Registration and audition videos must be submitted by Saturday, October 31 at 2 p.m.

Students will be sent a letter and a packet of music upon acceptance.

There is no cost to students or parents, other than transportation to Bolivar to the SBU campus.  Thanks, SBU!

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION VIDEO

  1. Record your video.
  2. Save your video file as <Firstname Lastname Instrument>
  3. Upload your video.
  4. Click on “NEW” at the upper left of the screen. (If using a mobile device, click the + sign.)
  5. Click on “File Upload.”
  6. Browse and choose your file from your computer or mobile device.
  7. Email ajohnston@SBUniv.edu if you have problems.
