Jazz Ensemble Assignments from 9/9/16

1. Play pages at the end of Band Book 3 – jazz style introductions.

2.  Practice Concert Bb blues scale. Memorize.  (Found at top of #1 Kenny’ll Make it hand out.

3.  Begin playing #3 of hand out blues pages.

3.  Begin working on melody of “Just a Closer Walk” in hymns jazz book.  Listen to CD versions w/book.

5.  Read Blues printed pages handed out in class.

6.  Find a Jazz professional on your instrument – bring their name and a song title you listened to from them.  Youtube is a good resource here.
