Percussion Ensemble Assignments:

Practice etude 1 from Portraits in Rhythm.  Try to get halfway through the piece, but most of all, make it musical.  Look at the dynamics, at the thoughts in the study guide next to the piece, and any other musical indicators.  Take the time to make it sound expressive, not just “correct.”  Also, check out this awesome video of pen beats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcHLh2_tteM
