Orchestra: Beginner Cello Assignments for 10.4.2019

1. Continue to work on your positions as shown on page 3 in your book.
2. Learn the instrument   part names from page 2
3. Practice page 6 and page 7 in your book.
4. Pay careful attention to all of the information in the yellow boxes as that is important information and vocabulary to learn.
5. Tapes were added to all of the cellos to show the proper placement of the left-hand fingers.

            Red tape=1^st finger or index finger of the left hand

            White tape=3^rd finger or ring finger of the left hand

            Blue tape=4^th finger or pinky of the left hand

6. Each time a tape is added it proceeds to the next letter in the alphabet.  Practice your flashcards so you can get faster at recognizing the notes!

            D string=no fingers

            D string 1^st finger=E

            D string 3^rd finger=F sharp or F#

            D string 4^th finger=G

7. Do not add your bow yet, please.
