Music Notes for 4.27.2018
Hello Teachers,
Thank you so much for a great day at Music Contest last week. The judges were very complimentary of the students and the teachers.
The next couple of weeks are very busy, so I though an email would be helpful!
I have tried to include all of the dates and information for the next month. Wow there is a lot going on!! If you have any questions, please contact me.
Friday, April 27
- All classes will meet this Friday, but see note about 10:10 optional performance
- Start Student Evaluations. Forms will be in the Music Library on Friday. Give to student when you have finished the evaluation. Some younger classes have offered incentives to insure they get to the parents. Bring evaluation back with a parent signature for a ticket or a piece of candy, etc.
- Go over judges written comments. I will have them for you on Friday.
- 10:10-10:40 in the Sanctuary will be a performance from the Springfield Symphony Brass Quintet
o All students are invited, but it is up to the teacher
o Meet at 10:00 in your regular room, then escort students to the Sanctuary and sit together. Return to class afterwards as a group
o If you don’t want your 10:00 theory or performing class to attend the 10:10 assemble, please let me know. I will also put that in the parents notes.
- Combined Practice for Graduation of musicians only that perform Agnus Dei or The Lord Bless You and Keep You
- Teacher Luncheon at Noon in Room 102-103. No official teacher meeting, but please enjoy lunch!! Teacher checks for April with be ready on May 4 with pick up at the Information Table.
- Harp Ensemble meet in Room 150
- 1:00 Beethoven musicians and graduates meet in Sanctuary to practice processional
Saturday, April 28 First Annual PSHP Graduation
- 1:30 Musicians arrive
- 2:00 Sanctuary doors open and prelude starts
- 2:30 Graduation starts, with a reception to follow

Friday, May 4
- All Friday Classes will meet
Please pay for your adjusted student bill, plus your $7 concert fee and $7 for church usage fee. Your bill will be adjusted for any cancelled Fridays.
Combined high school classes rehearsal, 12:00-12:30 in Sanctuary
Open House for Prospective New Members at 9:15, 10:15 and 1:15
Recorder Students Visit Instrumental Classes 8:45-10:00 to see choices
Teachers finish Student Evaluations
The church’s Bazaar is scheduled for May 5, so please avoid use of Kitchen and Fellowship Hall as much as possible
Saturday, May 5
Beginner Orchestra, Intermediate Orchestra, Advance Intermediate Orchestra, Bach Orchestra, Beginner Guitar, Intermediate Guitar, Recorder, Beginner Band,
Intermediate Band, Singers and Mezzo will perform at Asbury for the Church Bazaar between 10-12:30 in the Sanctuary.

Last day for Theory Classes, last day to meet at Asbury

Music Composition Recital at 4:00 in Sanctuary *(Beethoven will meet from 2:45-3:20, Brahms will meet from 3:20-3:50)
Monday May 21
Mandatory Final Concert at 6:00 pm at Location either at Asbury or at High Street Baptist
This is our big grand final concert of the year!!
This will be a come and go concert.
Each student will be recognized and given a certificate.
It is great to acknowledge the great accomplishments of everyone.

Each student will be recognized and given a certificate.
It is great to acknowledge the great accomplishments of the students and honor all of the teachers.
Friday, May 25
End of the Year Picnic from 11:30-2:30
Teachers, please plan to stop by if you can. The students love to see you in a relaxed atmosphere and to sign their yearbooks.

Honor all PSHP Graduates; Cake cutting and pictures at Noon!
