Meeting for High School Students at Noon in Sanctuary

Please meet in the Sanctuary tomorrow for a 15” meeting at noon, if you did not already attend last week’s meeting.  I wanted to have a short meeting to discuss Handbook and other friendly reminders.

Set Up Crew and Mid Day Crew Instructions (see attachment)

Please see the following for the specific instructions as to which rooms need keyboards and where to move them or get them from.  Also please note on the Door Signs there should be a post it note with how many chairs and any other directions. Thank you for your help in this important job.

Clean Up Crew

Please note that on the back of each door room sign is a picture of how the room is to be restored. Contact Kathy Love or check at the Information Table if you have any questions or problems.  Thank your time as we restore Asbury!

Teacher and Class Room Numbers

All students can report directly to their classes this week.  Please plan where you will meet your child after class. I have included that room numbers and teacher names on this chart.  If you or your children ever have any questions, have them go to the Information Table in the Fellowship Hall close to the Sanctuary Doors.

Orchestra Classes Notes

All students in Intermediate Orchestra or older will have the opportunity to try out for seat placement.  This is optional, but is a good option for those students that want to be leaders in class and enjoy practicing.  Violin students will be given a choice of whether they want to be in first or second violin and will sign up tomorrow in class.  All students will be assigned a part and a chair, with those students that auditioned for seats being placed at the beginning of the section and all others after that did audition for seats.  Most of these will take place during class tomorrow.  If any Beethoven students can stay later than 3:45 that would be wonderful.

Yearbook Staff

Yearbook Staff will meet in Room 104 at Noon tomorrow.

Yearbook Orders

If you order your Yearbook by the end of September you will get a 15% discount off of the regular price of $17.93.

Each yearbook has a place for two free pages that can be customized.  If you order earlier in the year, it makes it easier to upload pictures to your personalized page.  I learned that the hard way last year!!

Go to TreeRing.com/validate.  School code:  Check the handout from Registration Day or the Information Table

If you registered last year, you should still be in the system.

Symphony Concert Saturday Night

The Springfield Symphony will be performing Tschaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Shostakovich 5 Symphony at their concert at 7:30 at Hammons Hall on the campus of MSU. Come support your teachers Amanda Murphree-Roberts, Elizabeth Suh, Jill Woodhouse, Suzannah Pugh, and Kathy Love.

There are vouchers in your registration packet that are good for $10 tickets or you can pick up one at the Information Table.

You will need to exchange the voucher for a seat by 6:45 the night of the concert at the Hammons Hall Box Office.

Guitar Students

Friday, September 15 is the last day to sign up at the Information Table to purchase a foot stool for $9.30.  All guitar students will need to purchase one of these through us or on their own for proper classical guitar placement and position.  I will order these on Saturday from Hoover Music and we will charge your family bill for September which will be due next Friday, September 22.
