Parent Notes

  1. Yearbook Picture Day is this Friday. The students will be escorted during their theory class for their headshot for the Yearbook.  Yearbooks will be for sale in the Spring.  Beginner Orchestra students will be dismissed from their playing class for their pictures.  Pictures will be outside, out the north door in the guitar hallway.
  2. Individual and Sibling Picture Day is also tomorrow with photographer, Breanna O’Bryan. Packages range in price from $25-$85 with add-ons also available.  Pictures will be outside, out the north door in the guitar hallway.  Please go at your scheduled time, which is not during class time!  Please be prepared to pay for your package at the time of your picture.  Bring cash or checks, made out to Breanna O’Bryan.
  3. Another Individual and Sibling Picture Day has been added on Friday, Nov. 4. Sign up at the Information Table tomorrow.
  4. The Adult Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is next Friday, Nov. 4 at Noon. Please sign up at the Information Table to bring food for the Turkey dinner themed luncheon.  Please bring your dishes prepared and bring serving utensils, as the kitchen will be closed that day due to the Asbury Bazaar on Nov. 5.
  5. Please remind your family to bring all of their Christmas books and music to class from now until December.
  6. Tonight, Thursday, Oct. 27, the Springfield Symphony is having their free family friendly, Spooky Symphony, at 6:00 at Hammons Hall on the campus of MSU.
  7. T-shirt design deadline is Friday, Nov. 4 at 11:00. Turn in at the Information Table.

 

Student Notes

  1. Be prepared for Yearbook pictures tomorrow.  They will be just a headshot.  You will be escorted outside to your picture out of your music theory class. Beginner Orchestra students will have their pictures taken during their playing class, but will still be escorted.  Every student will be photographed unless your parents, did not give permission on your initial paperwork.  Yearbooks will be for sale in the Spring.
  2. Be prepared for your Individual and Sibling Picture Day which is also tomorrow outside. Another day has been added on Friday, Nov. 4.  Sign up at Information Table.  Please be prepared to pay in cash or check for your picture to Breanna O’Bryan.
  3. Please bring all of your Christmas Books and music from now until December.

Upcoming Calendar Dates of interest:

  • Friday, Nov. 4 at 12:30 Former PSHP graduate, Abigail High, now a Drury Music Therapy major,  will be in the Sanctuary to present  an information meeting about a career in Music Therapy.  It will only take 15-20 minutes.  All students and adults are welcome.  This will be especially good for high school students.
  • Friday, Nov. 4 at 11:00 PSHP T-shirt design deadline.  Turn in at Information Table.
  • Friday, Nov. 4 at Noon is the Adult Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.
  • Friday, Nov. 4 the Kitchen will be closed due to Asbury members preparing for the church bazaar on Sat. Nov. 5. Please move out of the Fellowship Hall at 3:00, so they can start preparing the tables.
  • High School Combined Rehearsal for Messiah Hallelujah Chorus and combined songs will be Friday, Nov. 11, 18, and Dec. 2 at Noon in the Sanctuary.
  • Friday, Nov. 18 Dr. Chris Kelts, the MSU Orchestra director will be a guest in Bach, Beethoven, and Brahm’s orchestra classes from 1:45-4:45.
  • Friday, Nov. 18 evening: Select Classical Ensemble pre-show for Stained Glass Theater
  • Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2:00 High School classes Concert at The Springs, formerly First E. Free
  • Friday, Dec. 9 scheduled from 10:00-12:30 Concert of all middle school and elementary age classes at Asbury
  • Friday, Dec. 9 afternoon High School Classes will visit Nursing Homes
  • Friday night, Dec. 9 Winterfest at Hammons Hall,  (Brahms and Bel Canto)
