Beginner Band Percussion Assignments:

Practice the exercises on page 5 and 6 on the keyboard percussion side of your Essential Elements book.  Remember the sayings for the lines and the spaces of the treble clef: lines are Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge (EGBDF) and the spaces in between the lines spell the word FACE.  Put time into the exercises that DON’T have the notes written on them (from exercise 11 on) and avoid writing in the names of the notes.  This becomes a hazardous crutch down the road.  Continue to use good grip (matched grip, described on page 2 of the keyboard percussion side) and use both you right and left hand!  (P.S., look for a bonus question next week!)
