Young Beginner Violin Theory 9/30/16
Hello! Here is your theory update from last Friday. If you have any problems or want help in any way, feel free to email me at email@example.com or talk to me after class this Friday.
We worked on p.6 in our theory book, and ex. 1 and 2 of Lesson 2 in our rhythm book. I am very pleased at how quickly we are moving along! If you don’t have these done in your books now, if you could finish them before class, that would be wonderful. Also, we played “Around the World” with Miss Celeste, which I know you enjoyed!
Wonderful job, everyone, and I’m very proud to teach you. You are a great group of students!
I wanted to let you know that in each student’s theory book, there is a pack of musical flashcards. I have stressed to your kids how much I would love for them to practice these. Hold the staff out to them, and ask the questions written on the back. “What note is this?”. “What string is it played on?”. “What finger is this?”. I do not expect them to be perfect at these, but it would help more than you know if you are diligent in practicing them. 5 to 10 minutes a day or so would be very helpful. Think of it like a part of school. I would be so happy about that! It would help more than you can imagine in playing and theory.
Also, I wanted to invite you to sit in on my class sometime. If you would like see what all we do, or how you can help, you are most welcome! My theory class is from 10:00 to 11:00 am, in the Choir Room. If you need help finding it, you can ask one of the ladies at the front desks.
Thank you for your time and your amazing kids. It has been a blessing to teach every one of them. I thoroughly enjoy it.
Have a wonderful week!
