This week, practice bowing with your cardboard tubes, and practice Essential Elements: Exercises 57-64 (with the bow).
On Exercise 57, make sure you do a quick and short bow lift.
On all the Essential Elements songs, make sure that if you are playing an A string note, the bow is only touching the A string, and that if you are playing a D string note, the bow is only touching the D string. Press hard enough to get a good sound, but not too hard so that it is scratchy.
Please pay close attention to posture when playing with the bow! Make sure your right arm is level, not pointing toward the sky, nor drooping like a chicken wing. Also, pay close attention to your bow hold. Make sure the fingers are all curved (especially the thumb and pinkie) like a wheel. The pinkie should rest on top of the bow stick, the middle three fingers should be curved around the stick, and the thumb should be curved. Please use the picture below to make sure your bow hold is correct.

Great work everyone! I am so proud of the progress you all are making!
Bonus Question: How many quarter notes are in a measure?
