Parent Notes for PSHP Music Classes

Thank you:

1. Thank you for a wonderful first day last Friday. It was great to see everyone and hear music filling the halls! I look forward to getting into a great Friday routine, as the new students learn and feel more comfortable. I am so happy with our classes and teachers this year and how God is being praised.

2. Thank you to last year’s Beethoven Students who had a great performance Saturday night at the Pre-Concert to the Springfield Symphony. I was very proud of all of you and loved your music.

Assignments:

Please check the website for class assignments:

http://playhispraises.com

The assignments should be updated by their teachers by Mondays each week.

The constant contact parent notes will be sent midweek. I am striving to send this earlier this year, but did not accomplish this the first week!! Thank you for your patience and grace!

PARENT NOTES:

· All instrumental students will need a music stand to hold their music.

· I recommend a bag to hold all of their belongings like their music and stand. Some instrument cases have enough room to hold their music, but most don’t. Please label their bag with their name.

· Many of the books that were back ordered have arrived this week. The back ordered books will be delivered to their music class by the PSHP Music Librarians. This week recorder books, Master Theory 1, and PSHP Rhythm Book 2 came in. Thank you for your patience.

· Asbury just had new carpet and tile laid in the Fellowship Hall area this week. Just a reminder that all food is to be eaten at a table that is on the tile floor. PSHP will need to be extra careful and please pick up after yourself.

· Choir students will receive a listening and practice CD in the fall and in the spring this year. Your fall CD’s will be handed out in class over the next 2 Fridays.

· Optional Seat Try-outs for students in Advance Intermediate Orchestra, Bach Orchestra, and Beethoven Orchestra will be this Friday. Optional Seat Try-Outs for Intermediate Orchestra will be on Friday, October 2. Violin students will need to sign up whether they want to play a First Violin Part (higher notes and usually melody) or Second Violin Part (lower notes and usually harmony parts).

· Please only park in designated spots only. Don’t leave your car unattended in the circle drives.

· HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS CONCERT DRESS FITTINGS: All high school girls in a high school performing class will need to be fitted this Friday for their correct size. All returning high school girls should try on your dress before you come to class on Friday, just in case your dress does not fit. If you aren’t sure, bring your dress with you for advice. Dresses that don’t fit, can be sold for $30. We will be having fittings the next two Fridays.
