Pictures this Friday

Please read as everyone will be taking at least one picture this Friday.

Picture Day for the Yearbook will be this Friday October 30th, from 11:15-1:30 in the Fellowship Hall. All students and teachers will need to stop by for a headshot for the Yearbook. These pictures are for the Yearbook only and will not be available to purchase individually. The make-up day will be Friday, November 6th from 11:15-1:30.

Individual and Sibling Pictures are also this Friday at the time that you signed-up. Please plan on ordering and paying for your pictures on Friday with either a check or cash.

Suzannah Purvis-Schrenk, a founding member of PSHP, will be our photographer this year. She will be taking pictures outdoors in the grassy area to the north and east of the church. She will have props. Instruments are welcome. There will be a table set up in the hallway outside of the guitar rooms to fill out your order forms. We will move inside to an upstairs room in case of bad weather.

Graduating Seniors Spring 2016

Please plan on stopping by to have your picture taken for the Yearbook. Please also write an original quote on a piece of paper labeled with your name and place it in the Senior Box at the Information Table.

Adult Teacher’s Appreciation Luncheon this Friday

We have had to move the date of our luncheon from Nov. 6th to this Friday, October 30. I am sorry for the change, but Asbury would like for us not to use the kitchen on Nov. 6th due to preparation for their fall bazaar on Nov. 7th.

The Teacher’s Luncheon will be in Rooms 102 and Rooms 103 from 11:30-1:00. The Harp Ensemble will be moved to the Library.

Student and Parent Reminders

1. All instrumentalists should bring a music stand each week. Label your stand with your name. I recommend carrying a music bag that will hold your music and your folding stand.

2. All students should bring their Christmas books and/or Christmas music each week from now until December.

3. All violin and viola students will need to purchase a shoulder rest or a sponge to ensure proper position of the instrument and for the safety of the instrument.

4. Remind your student to keep track of any tickets they are getting in class; possible an envelope or a ziplock bag. They will want to keep them safe until Dec. 4 when they can use them to purchase prizes or gifts in the Prize Store.

5. Please be on the lookout for items to donate for our Prize Store on December 4. We can use all sizes of items. Ideas include gift cards, candy, music, batteries, tuners, games, toys, and any nice items that are gently used.

Calendar Reminders:

1. Saturday, Dec. 5 Concert at 2:00 at First E. Free for all of the advanced classes. Refer to your calendar for more info.

2. Friday, Dec. 11 (this is the correct date) Christmas Concert for beginner and intermediate classes at Asbury. Each class is scheduled for a 10-15 minute performance between 10 am and 12:30 pm. Please plan early so working parents or grandparents can rearrange their schedules for this special day. See the Calendar for specific times.
