Write a short rhythmic phrase, somewhere between 4 to 10 measures. Although this is meant as an introductory assignment, try to put some thought into why you’re choosing the rhythms you are. Also, if you’d like to look up some great music, Sibelius’ First Symphony is awesome, as is Finlandia. Berlioz’s "Symphony Fantastique" is also an epic piece, and will actually be played tomorrow by the Springfield Symphony.
